Duart Castle

Duart Castle, on the Isle of Mull in Scotland is the ancestral home of the Clan Maclean. Standing proudly on a clifftop guarding the Sound of Mull, Duart enjoys one of the most spectacular and unique positions on the West Coast of Scotland. For over 400 years this has been the base of the Clan Maclean's sea-borne power. In 2012 there will be a clan gathering 100 years after the first. There are various activisties on throughout the Summer at Duart including Children's Treasure Hunts,  Duart Pipes and Highland Dancing Day and Highland Swordsmanship Demonstrations. Islandscape Photography - Great photography workshops capturing the essences of light and wildlife on Mull. www.islandscapephotography.co.uk

 Iona Abbey - The centre of Christian worship for almost 1500 years a trip to Mull must include a short ferry crossing from Fionnphort to Iona to explore the Abbey and the Island.

Isle of Staffa and Fingal Cave - An outstanding example of a lava flow that has solidified into hexagonal coloumns. There are boat trips throughout the year from Fionnphort and also Tarus Mara at Ulva Ferry. www.turusmara.com

Isle of Ulva - This small privately owned island has no tarmac roads, but has 5 walks of varying lengths around the island and the Boathouse Restaurant. Catch the ferry or water taxi for a crossing of just a few minutes to explore this lovely little island.

Finlay is a retired policeman with a great love of wildlife and he was largely responsible for setting up Eagle Watch to ensure the SEA EAGLES could nest in peace
